You'll be wearing this basic beanie in just a few nights of knitting! It's the perfect design for those wanting to learn how to knit in the round. It's an easy, quick knit that will give you instant gratification.

This pattern has inbuilt links to self-guided video support to help you complete each section of the beanie while you follow along. The videos cover the 4 key sections of the beanie:

  • Step 1 | Casting on
  • Step 2 | Joining to work in the round & knitting the 2x2 rib band
  • Step 3 | Knitting the body of the beanie
  • Step 4 | Shaping the top of the beanie

MEASUREMENTS & YARN
To Fit Head Child 48cm, Adult 56cm (Laines du Nord Merino Big 100g - discontinued yarn) Recommended replacement yarn: Fiori Grande
Quantity x 1 ball
Pom Pom optional

*Important Update: Merino Big Discontinued
Please be aware that Merino Big yarn is no longer available. If you're planning to knit the Ruby Beanie, we recommend using Fiori Grande as a substitute. Fiori Grande comes in 100g balls with 75 meters per ball. You should still have enough yarn to knit your beanie with just 1 skein of Fiori Grande, but please note that size and tension can also influence the amount of yarn required.

Or please consider the Tension required when selecting your yarn.

TENSION
12 sts and 17 rounds to 10cm over stocking st, using 8mm needles.
Check your tension carefully by working a stocking st sample in the round (every round knit). If fewer sts to 10cm use smaller needles, if more sts use larger needles.

NEEDLES & EXTRAS
8mm circular knitting needles (40cm long) or size needed to give correct tension
6-8 stitch markers, wool needle for finishing.
